I’ve been getting lots of requests for my intro-to-preterite materials! Rather than go through the emailing and attaching process over and over again, I am simply posting the materials here!
Attached are the materials I use and below is a link to the video (which, to be clear, I did not make myself). I usually begin by asking them to think about when we use the past tense. While showing he PowerPoint, I introduce new vocab from the video and some of the key verbs in past tense (Voy becomes fui, llamo becomes llamé, etc.). Then I go over the half sheet of comprehension questions and make sure everyone understands what is being asked. Finally I show the video twice, discuss the answers with the students, and show it one more time to give everyone a final chance to pick up on things they may have missed before.
